At least five Indian-origin men have been arrested and charged with the murder of 35-year-old Kuldeep Kumar whose body was recovered from Manchester Township in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
According to Ocean County prosecutor’s office, the last suspect in the case, Sandeep Kumar of South Ozone Park, New York, was taken into custody on January 3 in connection with Kuldeep’s murder.
Nature Of Allegations
He was charged with murder and conspiracy to murder Indian origin Kuldeep Kumar in the U.S. on October 22.
The other four persons arrested in the case were identified as Sourav Kumar, 23, Guarav Singh, 27, Nirmal Singh, 30, and Gurdeep Singh, 22.
“On December 20, 2024, Sourav Kumar, Guarav Singh, Nirmal Singh, and Gurdeep Singh, were taken into custody in Greenwood, Indiana, by Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and City of Greenwood (Indiana) Police Department. They were transported to Johnson County Jail in Franklin, Indiana, where they will remain lodged pending their extradition to New Jersey,” read the statement issued by the Ocean County prosecutor’s office.
“Continuing investigation into the death of Kuldeep Kumar by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Manchester Township Police Department, has revealed that Sandeep Kumar acted in concert with the other defendants in carrying out Kuldeep Kumar’s murder,” the statement said.
Sandeep Kumar is currently lodged at the Ocean County Jail in New Jersey.
Cause Of Death
A post-mortem examination by the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, with the manner of death ruled as homicide.
Last month, four suspects were arrested in Indiana and are currently being held at Johnson County Jail, awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
A fifth suspect remains detained at Ocean County Jail for a hearing.
All five individuals face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The investigation began on December 14, 2024, after authorities found a body in the Greenwood Wildlife Management Area in Manchester Township, New Jersey.
